We live in a world that rewards the one who speaks louder, more secure of himself.
A world where raising the voice seems more important than having something valuable to say.
But as I read QuietFrom Susan Cain, something made me stop: "Many of the most transformative leaders do not need to scream to change the course."
They don't rule the room.
They're not looking for reflectors.
But they're there, watching, processing, spinning fine.
And when they talk, causing real change.
When they talk, open a before and a after.
I have seen it: that person in the room that passes unnoticed, until he throws a phrase that disables the ego and reveals the blind point.
That voice goes down which, without ornaments or poses, says just what no one dared to name.
And that is what we are most in need of today: the person who hears more than he speaks.
The person who doesn't compete for attention,
The one that leads not from the volume... but from the clarity. In a world full of noise, in which it seems that each time you have to scream louder to be heard... most likely the answer is in silence.
In listening.
And to talk only when what you're going to say... It's really worth saying.
