I've always tried to do something with my teams.
Tell the truth.
Even when it's uncomfortable.
Even when it's hard.
Even when no one wants to hear it.
Sometimes I have even said more about the account, but over the years I understood something very clear.
The truth has enormous power, it puts you with your feet on the earth and that's the only place you can build something real.
From there it is planned.
From there, decisions are made.
From there they face the problems.
Reality can be brilliant, it can be hard, it can be nice or deeply uncomfortable.
But it doesn't matter.
The important thing is that it's real and when you work from reality, something interesting happens.
Teams begin to mature and conversations become more honest, more constructive, more creative.
People stop defending appearances and start solving problems.
That day I understood something I still believe today: telling the truth is not brutality, it is respect for the intelligence of your team.
Because the companies that avoid the truth...
They end up being defeated by reality.
